YES. WE. CAN.

and did!

what a beautiful night it was in grant park. and everywhere in the country. and the world.

i got an email from each of my host parents this morning congratulating me, telling me how happy they were for our country. and theirs. and the whole world.
my host mom's email said this: (my translation):
"last night we saw the latest news from chicago, the people gathering in grant park, and we were commenting that our princess surely would be there, in the middle of the multitude. congratulations for the new president of the united states, we think from the bottom of our hearts that obama is going to do very well, not only for the united states but for the whole world. theres a breath of fresh air in international politics, and you can feel in his personality that he will help bring about a world more just, less discriminatory, more visionary, and more modern. we think there will be a 'before and after' in the united states after this election, even though it will be difficult to change this world to a more equal society, with equal opportunities for all."

beautiful, no?

and, finally, pictures!!!!

peace and hope to you!

im very dissapointed that you support a man,

who 1. is prolife, and as president is working to make pro-life legal.
2. Who is going to tax anyone above the 250,000 line (which means my family)
3. someone that doesn't salute the American Flag (who doesn't put his hand over his heart)
4. Someone that who is for gay marriage.

This country was founded on faith & morals, i believe that even though Mccain was not the best, pick He would of prevailed over Obama. You as a christian should see that God needs to work in this time, when Obama is saying He's going to make all this "change" and the change -is comming from our tax money. Plus, people think he's going to save our economy, and our nation, and only God can truly do that. It truly sickens me that you'd support a man in office who kills innocent children, and who taxes people like my family who've worked very hard to give to people that already get goverment help.

i pray that God will help you realize the decision you just made...

Dear Anonymous, what??
And now let me apologize for being critical. I, too, could not in my heart, vote for Obama because of his association to planned parenthood and his belief that abortion is a negotiable item. I also am a pacifist, as was Jesus Christ, and I found it difficult to fully support John McCain. He would undoubtedly have enlarged our territory of war in the world. Aren't we blessed to be in a country where we can choose to support whomever we desire? Now that Mr. Obama is our president (or will be soon) I intend to support him and his beautiful family. I believe that he WILL unite our country. I believe that he stands for respect, caring, honesty, and responsibility for ALL human beings. His family is a testament and witness that ANYONE in this world may achieve what they work dilligently toward. What an encouragement he is to us all! He IS the right man for this country, this generation, and this time. Remember that God is in control, always, but never controlling. We have free will to do or say or feel or vote our hearts. Please stay in school, or return to school, so you learn to communicate fluently and realize your full potential in this era of change. Please also remember that we ALL have sinned and fallen short of the glory of our great God, and all of us need the grace and mercy of Jesus Christ. Christianity is about service to others, the poor, the rich, the old, the young, black or white, American or African, male or female, and I hope you believe that also. Our statement that we are Christians is a statement of our humility, not a statement of judging others. Please stand up for what YOU believe and live for it with joy and gusto! Please, do not leave anonymous comments on anyone's blog but stand firm and bold and state your name with conviction. God loves you and so do I.
